Weakness Is Not A Flaw

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

How many times have we been comforted or consoled someone else with this verse?  It seems that throughout our lives, someone has spoken this to us, written it on a card or somewhere this Truth has come to us when we need to be    reminded. Even when we pass this passage along to someone else, often times it is to bring forth in their mind, the glory of God that dwells in us, and His superiority over the enemy.

2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My Strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Gentleness and meekness are seen by the world as flaws.  Someone who is pathetic and weak has no motivation, zero drive to achieve goals.  What could possibly come from someone who is not out to compete and win at all costs?  But what is “success”?  What exactly is “won”?

Scripture tells us that our strength is found in Christ, through our weakness, and willingness to accept that it is only through Him, we are able to accomplish that which He created us to do/  Our Lord is not going to call us into anything that He will not give us the ability to accomplish.

God brings us up to fulfil our purpose.  We should crawl before we walk and run.  There is a plan God has for us, spanning our lifetime, with the blessed eternity with Him So let’s get ourselves in line with the way God designed our life, and not concern ourselves with how much “further along” someone may seem on their journey.  God’s pace is perfect, and we know any strength, any hope we have at all in truly living a successful life, is total surrender to the Will of the Lord.  I know this sounds completely contrary to what the world would have us believe, which makes it that much easier to see that it is the Father’s Plan!

Almighty and Precious Father

Thank You for fthis and every day

Please forgive our sins against You, others and ourselves

Be magnified in our weakness

Thank You for the Holy Spirit, dwelling in us

Please let us rest in Your strength, not our own

Thank You that we’ve been given understanding that confounds the world

We find through You, contentment  and peace

In an unsettled and chaotic place

This is not our home,Lord

But You give us grace to endure it

When we stand before You

We long to hear You say, something like,

“Well done, My good and faithful servant”

And everything we have experienced

Will be nothing

But oh, so worth it

Praise Your Glorious Name

In Jesus Name

Amen

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
