DEVOTIONAL~Our Lord Vindicates The Shedding Of Innocent Blood

Proverbs 16:16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Okay, we are back to this devotional.  Today we will look at “hands that shed innocent blood”.

ISIS militants behead 4 Christian kids who won’t denounce Jesus

Four Christian children were beheaded by ISIS militants in Iraq for refusing to denounce Jesus and convert to Islam, according to the leader of the Anglican church in Baghdad. Canon Andrew White, known as the “Vicar of Baghdad,” fled Iraq in October for Israel and recounted how brutal the country has become for Christians.

Before I go down this road, I want to make perfectly clear,  the Lord offers  forgiveness and healing from guilt and pain.

Mother Asked Why She Didn’t Have Abortion, Answer Touches Hearts of Her Critics – Erika Kurre

McCorvey, plaintiff for Roe vs. Wade – A Change of Heart

By the time the US Supreme Court ruled on January 22, 1973,  it was a mute point for her.  She had already given birth and put her daughter up for adoption.  At first she worked with a Dallas abortion clinic, helping women make appointments to terminate their pregnancies.

Later, by the grace of God, she came to know the Lord and ran a ministry “Roe No More” , providing mobile counseling to pregnant women in Texas.

16th Street Baptist Church bombing girls.jpgThe 16th Street Baptist Church bombing was an act of white supremacist terrorism which occurred at the African-American 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama on Sunday, September 15, 1963, when four members of the Ku Klux Klan planted a minimum of 15 sticks of dynamite attached to a timing device beneath the front steps of the church.[1]Described by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as “one of the most vicious and tragic crimes ever perpetrated against humanity,”[2] the explosion at the church killed four girls and injured 22 others.Although the FBI had concluded in 1965 that the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing had been committed by four known Ku Klux Klansmen and segregationists: Thomas Edwin Blanton, Jr.; Herman Frank Cash; Robert Edward Chambliss; and Bobby Frank Cherry,[3] no prosecutions ensued until 1977, when Robert Chambliss was tried and convicted of the first degree murder of one of the victims, 11-year-old Carol Denise McNair. Thomas Blanton and Bobby Cherry were each convicted of four counts of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2001 and 2002 respectively,[4] whereas Herman Cash, who died in 1994, was never charged with his alleged involvement in the bombing. The 16th Street Baptist Church bombing marked a turning point in the United States 1960s Civil Rights Movement and contributed to support for passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

King David,  Bathsheba  & Uriah, The Loyal Soldier

2 Samuel 11: 14 In the morning it happened that David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck down and die.” 16 So it was, while Joab besieged the city, that he assigned Uriah to a place where he knew there were valiant men. 17 Then the men of the city came out and fought with Joab. And some of the people of the servants of David fell; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

Fear and Pride Drove Herod To Slay Many Children, Attempting Exterminate The Christ Child

Matthew 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

    Isaiah 53:7

He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.

    Precious Lord and Savior
We thank You for the Sacrifice You made for us
    You, above all
Were THE INNOCENT, slain for the wicked sinner
It was only through YOUR blood
    We could be cleansed
    You, Jesus
Who came to Earth and dwelt among us
You, Who lived a perfect and sinless life
    Gave Yourself up
    Suffering a brutal death
That we would be spared from eternity in hell
No words can satisfy our gratitude

Father, we ask for peace in the last seconds of the lives given by those who
Refuse to deny their faith in You
We give You glory for their boldness and courage in what we hope to never face

Almighty God,  please give us the resolve now that if we are ever brought to the point of choice to reject You or face our own or the certain death of someone we love
We would have the strength to stand up to persecution, knowing, Lord, that You are waiting on the other side of earthly death, to welcome us into Your Kingdom

Holy Lord, we give You praise for every child whose mother changed her mind about abortion, for each one of the children who survived and speak up and out, giving You glory for their lives

We ask for peace for those who have sought forgiveness and for those who do not know Your love, please speak into their hearts as well

You are not the Lord of guilt or shame, but of mercy and grace

Merciful One, please, soften hearts filled with hatred and bigotry
Allow them to see another person as Your creation, fearfully and wonderfully made

Mighty Father, thank You for showing us in Scripture, even the most godly made mistakes
You show how Your Hand reached down and protected  Your Son until His time came to give of Himself in the way You determined
Not by the hand of an earthly king
But by the power and will of the King of kings!

We praise You for Who You Are
    Almighty God
    Magnificent and Glorious Creator
Vindicator for those whose innocent blood is shed

In the Name of Jesus we pray

    About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
