1 Devotional: Calm Yourself, Sister! (3 days of devotional verses)

SORRY for the late arrival! am like the weatherman who tells you to expect rain when you’re riding in the Ark with water up to the windows!
I am quite certain there are many places needing editing. Thank you in advance for your patience!
I hope all of you had a great Friday. I am going to be on vacation so I do not know if I will be able to send another devotional out until Tuesday.

If I get together and take everything I need with me, perhaps I will be able to send one out daily, regardless but I can’t guarantee that!

FRIDAY, March 27 Devotional
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

For a long time, our oldest daughter, has wanted us to visit her. It seemed like every time we planned to go, something came up and she ended up coming to us or meeting somewhere else.
At last, we’ve rented a house so all of us can be together there. Hopefully we will be able to meet some of her friends and have a tour of a few of her favorite places.
Well, I may have made it one week without mentioning a dog, so for me, I suppose that is pretty good, huh?
Here it goes! The rental has a no pet policy (unless we wanted to take the risk that our Noel would not have an incident in the house, costing us a cool $500 in damages!). Now you know I love my pet, but she is a dog and that risk factor enlightened me to that fact quickly (had it not, my husband would have certainly encouraged perspective!)

We almost opted to take Noel, which meant I would have had to have spent a couple of hours grooming her, hoping she didn’t re-stink before trip time (entirely possible since she enjoys “drying off” by rolling in the grass)!

Next, there’s the slow down issue: She is a good car rider (she loves my convertible! When she gets in and it is rainy or cold and the top is up, she just looks above her and then at me to fix the situation and drop the top! SO MY DOG!) When traveling, though, if the car slows down too much, or we stop, she whines. “Plan A”,let her out to potty or “Plan B”, roll the dice she was only bluffing! Been there, done both, the first will always be my choice!

Once she gets out, it isn’t like she is going to do her business and hurry to get back on the road, oh no, she must smell around to investigate the scent of others who were there before her!

What in the world does any of this have to do with anxiety? Good question!
Our kind friends offered to come over an take care of Noel while we are gone (even though she barked and growled and acted very rudely when my friend came to get the key yesterday).

About a year ago, we had a young lady come to the house to take out and play with the dogs while we were gone, and I wrote out about 3 pages in procedures! (You should have seen the notes I use to leave for the babysitter!).

That was a young lady, my friend assured me that she could handle her! I started thinking how crazy it was for me to be so concerned! This friend has raised FIVE exceptionally bright, well-adjusted children of her own, not even counting how many pets she has card for throughout her life!

Isn’t it amazing that we get anxious when we have our Lord, the Creator, Master, King in control of our lives? He is NOT going to let anything happen to His children that is outside of His control!

How much do you love your family? Of course you would do anything within your power to protect them, correct? Well, we know God loves us so much more and He IS the essence of POWER. Let’s commit to leaving our worries, concerns and burdens in His capable hands!

Oh Lord, our God
Thank You for the day You have given us
We give You praise and honor for Your power
Be magnified, King
In the Name of Jesus we pray
“Do Not Be Anxious”

Please consider closely these passages from God’s Word until I am able to resume our daily time together!

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
