DEVOTIONAL: Lift Up Hearts, Voices and Hands To Our Holy God

PSALM 5: 11-12 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Yhou defendest them: let them also that love Thy Name be joyful in Thee. For Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalm 63:5-7 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.Because thou hast been my Help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice.

Let’s give God some attitude! What do you do when you are super excited and joyful? Let’s lift our hands and shout to our God!

When I go to a football game and “Sweet Home Alabama” starts playing (well, anywhere I hear that, really), I make a goof of myself saying “Roll Tide Roll” at the appropriate times. I throw my arms up in the air, look totally ridiculous and do not even care! Why is it when I go to church, I find myself far too reserved to do the same, celebrating my Savior, OUCH! Why am I more inspired to animation by a silly football game and pull back when it comes to worship? Someone needs to reconsider perspective!

Often times in church , when I am singing in the car or at home with the radio, I find myself so excited about the day we are all in Glory, continually lifting up songs to our Sweet, Beautiful Lord!

Jesus held back NOTHING for me, to the point of death on a cross, yet my excitement and love for Him during times of praise and worship seems to be a well-kept secret.

Come on, the very one on Sunday, standing there, hands in pockets, quietly singing hymns is the same one who only a day before, danced around the bleachers or in front of the tv, decked head to toe in houndstooth.

Let’s lift up our voices and hands and praise Him right now! To God be the glory! He is truly magnificent!

Father God
To You be all glory, honor and praise

What a wonderful day it will be when we see You
Face to face

How we long to bow before You
To worship in Your presence

The anticipation of seeing You
Thrills our hearts

Praise Your Name
Glorious King

In the Name of Jesus
The Precious Son of God

“Praise the Name of Jesus”

“Lord, I Lift Your Name on High”

“I’ll Fly Away”

“Shout to the Lord”

“Above All”

“Ode To Joy”

“Joy to the World”

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
