Devotional: Run the Race, Encouragement to the Finish Line!

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know you not that they who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

When defeat seems to be nipping at our heals…. The enemy is an ankle biter at best.. Dangerous, yet DEFEATABLEAMEN

Have you ever had anyone in the bleachers or audience just for you, or have you been there for someone else? What a wonderfully amazing thing, even among the many outside distractions in this world, we can still hear and recognize that familiar voice, encouraging us to do our best! You know how special you are when someone takes time out to be there for you!

Listen….Don’t you hear the voice of your Father with the angels standing around Him…All cheering you on… You can do it! Just a little bit more!

Look at that finish line approaching… Just when you’re so sweaty from running so hard, panting, having run up, down, over and under steep mountains and deep valleys of life, Who do you spy with your squinting little eye? The smiling, welcoming face of your Precious Father, awaiting at the thresh hold of Eternity, with His arms wide open, to grab you up and say “Well done!”

Thank You, Father God
For cheering us on
For writing Scripture to encourage us
For sending friends our way to hold us accountable

Lord, we just ask for every child represented here
that You will open up their eyes, their minds to you
Their heart to Your Word

Pick us up, we pray, when we fall
Dust us off
In the Name of Jesus, we rebuke the fear of failure and
An attitude of defeat
Set us upright to continue running the course You have set before us
The road leading to You

Although we are weary,Father
Even when we think we have tried everything
Lord, we will obey
We will go out again and cast our nets

In the Name of the Most High, Jesus
song “Running the Race”

About voicevessel bwc

First, and most importantly, I love Jesus Christ and I trust in Him as my Lord and Savior. I was raised in a Christian home by a godly dad and mom (who planned and had me in July before turning 42 in August), and 5 older siblings. My father passed away when I was 7 and my mother (who went to be with the Lord in 2005 at 81) never remarried. As a child, I was bullied at school, so I did not have many friends. I didn't want to tell my mom this because I knew she had enough worry being a widow at 50. I know what it is like to be lonely. As an adult, God showed me the value of His Friendship and has blessed me, too, with rich relationships with dear friends who also love the Lord. My husband and I (married 31 years as of 2020), have three wonderful, adult children and son-in-law as well as three darling grandchildren. Along with many others, my husband lost his job, but we refuse to be fearful or angry. The Lord has provided for us and we are so thankful for the opportunity to express gratitude through personal contact and occasional memories I share through writing. I believe the Lord has given me a venue to engage with others and a means to share His Word. Thank you for checking out my page. I hope you enjoy what you read. If there is anything positive or insightful in the devotionals (NOT CALLING MY WRITING "INSPIRED" by any means!), I give all credit and glory to Jesus Christ! On the other side of that, when something makes no sense, that's all me
